Dramatist, actor Mamtazuddin passes away

Eminent playwright and theatre personality Prof Momtazuddin Ahmed died at a city hospital on Sunday. He was 84, reports UNB.
The renowned dramatist breathed his last around 3:48 pm while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals, said his nephew Shahriar Mahmud Prince.
Professor Momtazuddin Ahmed was admitted to the hospital on October 20 after his asthmatic problem worsened.
Born in 1935 in Chapainawabganj, Prof Momtazuddin was directly involved in the Language Movement during his college days at Rajshahi Government College.
Prof Momtazuddin authored a number of dramas. Among them 'Ki Chaho Shankhachil' and 'Rajar Anusharer Pala' have been included in the syllabus of Rabindra Bharati University of Kolkata.
He won Ekushey Padak (1997), Bangla Academy Award, Shishu Academy Award and many more in recognition of his contributions to theatre and literature.
