Today (Tuesday) is the April 29. On this day in 1991 a powerful tropical cyclone struck Chittagong region leaving a vast trail of destruction with loss of human lives and damage to properties. People of the coastal regions of southeastern Bangladesh are still being haunted by the pungent memories of that frightful night when the devastating cyclone with tidal surge battered the region with a wind speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). — BSS
