\\\'Drive from May to minimise highway congestions, accidents\\\'

Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said his ministry will conduct a coordinated drive on highways across the country from May to minimise traffic congestions and road accidents. The minister said this while visiting renovation works on Ghorashal-Tongi road in Mirerbazar area in Gazipur district. Mentioning that accidents on highways have turned to be a matter of grave concern, the minister said two committees have been formed by the Communications Ministry to ease traffic jams and check road crashes on the highways. About the renovation work on the Ghorashal-Tongi road, Quader said the work will be completed by June next, according to UNB.
