DSCC removes illegal makeshift shops in city’s New Market area

The authorities of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) carried out a drive against illegally-built makeshift shops at the New Market in Dhaka city on Monday.
Executive magistrates of DSCC Md Moniruzzaman and Afifa Khan led the drive that removed over 100 makeshift shops built on the open and walking spaces and in front of the permanent and legal shops of the market.
The DSCC team also fined 10 shops at the market Tk 43,500 under sub-sections 7 and 8 of section 92 of the Local Government (City Corporation) Act 2009.
