DSCC to combat Aedes thru joint efforts: Mayor

FE REPORT | Tuesday, 11 June 2024

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said on Monday that they would combat Aedes mosquitoes through concerted efforts of all, and sought cooperation from all in this regard.
"We (DSCC) don't like to shift blame on others' shoulders. We also don't want to make any single organisation or entity responsible. We will control mosquitoes unitedly," he said while inaugurating a drive against breeding of Aedes mosquitoes at the outdoor of Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the city.
"Like every year, we've started our drive this year for controlling Aedes mosquitoes and ensuring cleanliness. We've arranged view-exchange meetings with the stakeholders, and accordingly fixed our action plan."
The DSCC mayor noted that the number of patients (at DMCH) increases due to Aedes mosquitoes, and through this drive the breeding grounds or larva of Aedes mosquitoes would be destroye.
