The 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) will be held on March 15, DSE president Shakil Rizvi told the journalists after a board meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting was held at the DSE office on the day chaired by president of the country’s prime bourse Shakil Rizvi while DSE directors Rakibur Rahman and Ahmad Rashid Lali were present.
At the same time, DSE board also formed an election commission headed by Professor Abul Kashem, an economics teacher at the Dhaka University and a director of the DSE. The board also formed an appeal board led by Mr Akbar Ali, for the next DSE election.
Mr Shakil Rizvi said, "The AGM will be held on March 15, but the election will be held before the AGM. That's why we formed the election commission and appeal board."
However, he said the election board will announce the date of election soon.
As per the DSE constitution, four directors retire by rotation each year and fresh elections take place to elect the new directors in the bourse.
