DSE approves appointment of new CFO

FE Report The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has approved the appointment of Shuvro Kanti Choudhury as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of DSE. The decision was taken Monday at the 691st board meeting of the DSE. The DSE president Shakil Rizvi presided over the meeting. "The post of CFO of DSE remains vacant for a long time and the board decided to appoint Shuvro Kanti Chudhury as CFO," Chief Executive Officer of the DSE, Brig Gen Md Zahurul Alam told reporters at a press briefing after the meeting. The board also hailed the 21-point stock market rejuvenation package that was unveiled by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Wednesday afternoon with a vow to give all out support to implement it, said Mr Alam. The board meeting also decided to propose market lot of 50, 100, 200 and 500 shares to execute uniform face value of all shares and the proposal will be sent to the SEC soon, he added. Mr Shuvro Kanti, is a former executive director of the SEC and currently working as CFO at the Central Depository Bangladesh Limited (CDBL). Mr Shuvro Kanti is expected to join the DSE as CFO by next month.
