DSE arranges awareness programme for investors at Bogra

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) held an investors' awareness programme in Bogra with the potential investors to expand the share trading at the district level Sunday.
This kind of seminar with the investors at the district level is a part of the DSE's ongoing campaign for expanding of the trade among the people in the districts.
The seminar was held at the Bogra Parjatan Motel where a good number of participants attended the programme to receive the knowledge from the officials of the DSE and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
"We have already expanded our business and more districts will come under our trading network as we hope more big companies under telecommunications, energy and power will float shares in the stock market in near future," DSE President Abdullah Bokhari said Sunday.
Addressing the programme on the day, the DSE president said a new chapter in the DSE history was opened through the inter-district trading.
DSE senior vice president Ahmad Rashid in the Bogra programme said the bourse has taken all-out preparation to handle daily turnover worth Tk 5.0 billion within next two-three years. DSE has already crossed the Tk 2 billion-mark in turnover.
"DSE has a commitment to help broaden the securities market and the gradual expansion is a manifestation of the same," Ahmad Rashid said.
Executive directors of SEC Monsur Alam and Anwarul Kabir Bhuiyan, local officials of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), DSE vice president Sharif Ataur Rahman, director Kazi Firoz Rashid were present at the seminar.
