DSE, CSE advance

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed positive trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 31.00 points or 0.68 per cent to stand at 4,557.49 points after the 1st 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 16.05 points or 0.95 per cent to reach 1,704.49. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced by 10.13 points or 0.96 per cent to stand at 1,058.09. DSE turnover stood at Tk 672 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 126 advanced, 27 declined and 35 remained unchanged. Active Fine Chemicals was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 70.33 million changing hands till then followed by MJL BD, Hwa Well Textile, Meghna Petroleum and GP. The port city bourse, CSE, also saw upward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – gaining 32.10 points to 8,598.91, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 54 gained, 13 declined and 8 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 29.75 million.
