DSE, CSE dive at opening

The prices of most of the stocks on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative trend in early hours of trading on Tuesday, the third trading session of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 13.67 points or 0.29 per cent to stand at 4,611.08 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filled at 11am. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, lost 12.85 points or 0.76 per cent to reach at 1,675.79 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also lost 3.23 points or 0.31 per cent to stand at 1,013.82 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 457 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 66 advanced, 101 declined and 28 remained unchanged. BSCCL was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 69.86 million changing hands till then followed by Meghna Petroleum, BSC, Lafarge Surma Cement and Bata Shoe. The port city bourse – CSE – also saw negative trend at opening with its Selective Category Index --- CSCX losing 8.16 points to stand at 8,894.20 points, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 24 gained, 39 declined and 7 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 36.19 million.
