DSE, CSE gain

The prices of most of the shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday, the 4th trading session of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 17.54 points or 0.39 per cent to reach 4,489.72 after the 1st 30 minutes of the session when the report was filed at 11am. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 6.64 points or 0.40pc to stand at 1,657.23. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced by 3.76 points or 0.36 per cent to reach 1,024.43 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 765 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 127 advanced, 25 declined and 35 remain unchanged. GP was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 229m changing hands till then followed by MJL BD, AFC Agro, Beximco and SPCL. The port city bourse – CSE – also saw positive trend in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index, CSCX, gaining 10.83 points to reach 8,492.76, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 39 advanced, 20 fell and 8 remained static with a turnover value of Tk 42.72 million.
