DSE, CSE open higher

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher on Wednesday, maintaining the previous sessions’ upturn, the fourth session of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 12.77 points or 0.27 per cent to 4,634.44, after the first 30 minutes of the trade when the report was filed at 11am. The two other induces also saw positive trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, rose 4.97 points or 0.28 per cent to 1,759.73. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 3.55 points or 0.32 per cent to reach 1,119.34 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 740 million when the report was filed.
Of the issues traded till then, 142 advanced, 46 declined and 50 remained unchanged. Far Chemical Industries was the most traded stocks till then with shares BDT 57 million changing hands followed by Beximco Pharma, Aman Feed, Active Fines and Emerald Oil.
The port city bourse – CSE – also opened higher with its Selective Category Index -- CSCX – gaining 12.63 points to stand at 8,609.50, also at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 45 gained, 21 declined and 14 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 53 million.
