DSE, CSE open higher at opening

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend in early hour of trading on Monday, the second session of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 17.35 points or 0.36 per cent to 4,790.00, after the first 30 minutes of trade, when the report was filed at 11am. The two other indices also saw positive. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 7.13 points or 0.39 per cent to 1,826.29. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 2.86 points to reach at 1,178.18. DSE turnover stood at Tk624 million when the report was filed. Of the issues traded till then, 144 advanced, 56 declined and 37 remained unchanged. United Airways was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth Tk72 million changing hands followed by Aman Feed, Emerald Oil, Summit Port Alliance and FAR Chemicals. The port city bourse – CSE— also saw positive trend in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index -- CSCX – gaining 16.04 points to 8,901.23, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 63 gained, 28 declined and 15 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk45.37 million.
