DSE, CSE rise in morning trade

The country's two bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – advanced in early hours of trading on Wednesday amid modest see-saw, the fourth trading day of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 16.60 points or 0.36 per cent to reach 4,607.26 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) climbed by 5.91 points or 0.55 per cent to stand at 1,071.38 points.  The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 3.03 points or 0.17 per cent to reach 1,731.44 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 1.12 billion when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 108 advanced, 60 declined and 33 remained unchanged. Square Pharma was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 108 million changing hands till then followed by Beximco, United Airways, Beximco Pharma and Golden Son. The port city bourse, CSE, also saw positive trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – gaining 17.62 points to stand at 8,692.13, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 39 gained, 37 declined and 10 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 54 million.
