DSE, CSE slip at opening

Share prices on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed negative trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday, the last trading day of this week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 14.19 points or 0.31 per cent to stand at 4,552.84 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, lost 4.27 points or 0.25 per cent to reach at 1,664.64 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also lost 3.52 points or 0.34 per cent to stand at 1,008.82 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 575 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 82 advanced, 81 declined and 16 remained unchanged. ACI Limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 120.54 million changing hands till then followed by Renata, GP, BSCCL and Meghna Petroleum. The port city bourse – CSE – also saw negative trend at opening with its Selective Category Index --- CSCX losing 45.29 points to stand at 8,749.73 points, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 18 gained, 53 declined and 7 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 41.60 million.
