DSE, CSE start on positive note

The prices of most of the shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend in early hours of trading on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went up by 26.98 points or 0.60 per cent to stand at 4,493.99 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 9.93 points or 0.60 per cent to reach 1,664.92. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced by 6.00 points or 0.58 per cent to stand at 1,028.47. DSE turnover stood at Tk 754.80 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 140 advanced, 23 declined and 28 remained unchanged. Beximco was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 96.67 million changing hands till then followed by Golden Son, MJL BD, BSCCL and Argon Denim. The port city bourse, CSE, also saw upward trend in early hour of today’s session with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – adding 38.19 points to reach 8,489.95 points, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 41 gained, 22 declined and 11 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 42.04 million.
