DSE, CSE stocky at opening

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed upward trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday, the 4th session of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 42.92 points or 0.93 per cent to stand at 4,645.36 points after the 1st 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 22.11 points or 1.26 per cent to reach 1,768.10. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 10.52 points or 0.97 per cent to stand at 1,094.09 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 767 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 148 advanced, 27 declined and 24 remained unchanged. Beximco was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 72 million changing hands till then followed by Beximco Pharma, GP, Lafarge Surma cement and United Airways. The port city bourse, CSE, also saw positive trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – gaining 62.03 points to reach 8,737.08, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 58 gained, 16 declined and 9 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 42 million.
