DSE, CSE stumble

Key share price index at the country’s twin-bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), closed lower on Sunday, the 1st trading day of the week. The DSE benchmark index DSEX dropped 20.56 points or nearly 0.41 per cent to close at 4963.90 points. Of the 303 issues traded today, 113 advanced, 156 declined and 34 remained unchanged. Shares worth Tk 7.53 billion (753.02 crore) changed hands at the premier bourse of the country. The day’s top 10 losers were Orion Infusion, Rahim Textile, Rahima Food, Tallu Spinning, Shurwid Industries, Prime Textile, LR Global Bangladesh Mutual Fund One, MI Cement, HWA Well Textiles, and Fu-Wang Ceramic. The CSE key index, CSCX, lost 18.62 points to stand at 9352.50 points at the close of today’s session. Of the 218 issues traded, 70 gained, 132 suffered loss and 16 remained static. The value of the traded issues was Tk 515.2 million, according to a news agency.
