DSE, CSE up at opening

The prices of most of the scripts on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed upward trend in early hours of trading on Thursday, the last trading day of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 30.73 points or 0.65 per cent to stand at 4,724.94 points within first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filled at 11am. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 7.65 points or 0.44 per cent to reach at 1,732.92 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went up by 6.14 points or 0.59 per cent to stand at 1,045.09 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 894 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 154 advanced, 33 declined and 20 remained unchanged. GP was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 213 million changing hands till then followed by Heidelberg Cement, Lafarge Surma Cement and Renata. The port city bourse – CSE – also saw positive trend at opening with its Selective Category Index --- CSCX gaining 47.59 points or 0.52 per cent to stand at 9,095.47 points, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 47 gained, 20 declined and 6 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 36.59 million.
