DSE gets new CEO

AFM Shariful Islam has joined the Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd. (DSE) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), which would be effective from March 01, 2009, said a press release.
Prior to join the new post, Mr. Islam served the DSE from September to December, 2008 as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and since January 01 to February 28 he performed as Acting CEO of the bourse.
Having experienced with 22-year professional experience Mr. Islam started his career as probationary officer on October 1, 1986 in Arab Bangladesh Bank (AB Limited).
Before joining the DSE, he was the Executive Vice President and head of Credit Administration Division of Southeast Bank Limited. He has completed his graduation and post-graduation in Economics from Rajshahi University. Mr. Islam has also completed Diploma in Financial Asset Management and Engineering from Swiss Finance Institute, Switzerland in 2006.
