DSE gives nod to six back-office software vendors

Monday, 1 January 2024

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has awarded certificates of enlistment to six back-office software vendors, according to a press release, bringing much-needed accountability and transparency to the Bangladeshi capital market.
The ceremony, held at the DSE Tower, saw the presence of key executives including Managing Director Dr ATM Tariquzzaman, Chief Operating Officer M Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar and Chief Regulatory Officer Khairul Bashar Abu Taher Mohammed.
Dr Tariquzzaman underscored good governance and called back-office software a cornerstone of accurate and transparent operations.
M Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar echoed the same, as he called for building trust among market stakeholders. He elaborated on how the vendor enlistment process strengthens market confidence by promoting transparency and accuracy in reports.
Khairul Bashar Abu Taher Mohammed emphasised the rigorous review process these vendors underwent, ensuring their software meets stringent regulatory standards.
The six enlisted companies are United Corporate Advisory Services (UBROKER), Orange Solutions (ZAB-ERP), Cygnus Innovation (XBROKER), LeadSoft Bangladesh (CAPITA), LankaBangla Information System (NGBO), and DataSoft Systems Bangladesh (Smart DS Trading Platform).
Responding to these concerns, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) mandated a vendor enlistment process in February 2022. This directive requires vendors to obtain DSE permission before supplying software to any brokerage firm, further bolstering market oversight.
