DSE retains gaining streak; Turnover stands at Tk 9.37b

The country's prime bourse – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) - retained the gaining streak of the last several sessions of the week, which ended with Thursday’s trading, before going into a 9-day vacation of Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja, apart from the 2-day's weekly holidays. The DSE’s broad index - DSEX - went up by 1.63 per cent or 84.45 points to close at 5237.72 at 2:30pm. Out of the 301 issues changed hands today, 251 advanced, 42 declined and 8 remained unchanged. At the end of the day’s session, the volume of trade stood at Tk 9.37 billion. Titas Gas topped the chart of turnover leaders with issues worth Tk 389.81 billion changing hands. The other top gainers were: Familytex (BD), First Lease Finance and Investment, Islamic Finance and Investment, IPDC, Far East Knitting and Dyeing Industry, City Bank, Fas Finance and Investment, Asia Insurance, Global Insurance and Islami Insurance Bangladesh. Trading in the bourses will resume on October 12.
