Dhaka University (DU) today (Sunday) starts selling application forms for the first-year honours admission in the academic year 2008-09.
Students can submit their admission forms until November 3. Each form will cost Tk 300.
The students of Science group have to collect their forms from the Agrani Bank at Curzon Hall, the students of Humanities group from the Janata Bank at Teacher Student Centre (TSC) on the Dhaka University Campus, and the students of Business Studies group from the Sonali Bank at the Registrar Building.
However, uncertainty looms large over sale of the application forms, as the Progressive Students' Alliance, a combine of seven left-leaning student organisations, has declared a programme to lay siege to the bank branches selling forms today, demanding a decrease of Tk 50 of each application form.
On the other hand, an organisation of madrasah students has also vowed to stop selling of application forms until their demand of lifting restriction on the madrasah students' admission to eight departments of Dhaka University is fulfilled.
