DU admission test begins tomorrow

The Dhaka University (DU) test for the first year honours programme will begin from tomorrow (Friday) with 'Ka' unit test under Science and Engineering related faculties.
'Kha' unit admission test will be held under the Faculty of Arts on the next day (Saturday).
The admission tests for the 2020-21 academic session will be held in eight divisional cities including in Dhaka from 11 am to 12:30 pm with total marks 120.
A total of 1,17,957 students applied against 1,815 seats of 'Ka' unit where around 65 students will vie for one seat, said a DU press release.
The release also said that 47,632 students applied against 2,378 seats of 'Kha' unit, 27,374 applied against 1,250 seats of 'Ga' unit, 1,15,881 applied against 1,570 seats of 'Gha' unit and 15,496 applied for 'Cha' unit against 135 seats.
The admission test of 'Ga' unit will be held on October 22 (Friday), 'Gha' unit on October 23 (Saturday) and 'Cha' unit (general knowledge) on October 09 (Saturday).
Of the 120, 20 marks has been allotted for the results of School Secondary Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) where it was 80 marks before, and admission tests will be held on the remaining 100 marks.
Of the 100 marks tests, for 'Ka', 'Kha', 'Ga' and 'Gha' units, the multiple choice questions (MCQ) part will be held on 60 marks and the written part will be held on the remaining 40 marks. Admission seekers of these units will get 45 minutes for the MCQ part and 45 minutes for the written part.
Only for the 'Cha' unit, the written part will be held on 60 marks and the MCQ part will be held on the remaining 40 marks. The written test will be held for 45 minutes and the MCQ test for 30 minutes.
The release also said that no electronic devices, including calculator, mobile phone, and electronic watch, will be allowed at the test venues on and outside the campus.
Admission seekers have been asked to visit the university website, http://admission.eis.du.ac.bd, for seat plan and other information.
This year, a total of 3,24,340 admission seekers applied for admission into undergraduate programmes against 7,148 seats under five units.
