The first-year honours admission test of Dhaka University's (DU) 'Gha' unit under the Faculty of Social Sciences for the 2021-22 academic session was held in eight divisional cities on Saturday.
The admission test was held from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on total 120 marks, said a press release issued by DU.
This year some 58 applicants are vying for one seat as a total of 78,045 students have applied for 1,336 seats in 'Gha' unit.
Of the total marks, 20 would be given on the basis of the results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams and the admission test was held on the rest 100 marks.
Of the 100-mark test, the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) part was held on 60 marks and the written part on 40 marks. Admission seekers got 90 minutes for answering the questions in the MCQ and written part.
No electronic devices, including calculator, mobile phone and electronic watch, were allowed into the exam halls.
It may be mentioned that Md Belayet Sheikh, a 55-year-old man, sat for the 'Gha' unit test on the day. Belayet, who hails from Mawna of Gazipur district, has long been trying to fulfil his dream of studying at DU.
"At my age, it is not easy to continue study as many of my relatives and village people mock me for continuing the study," he told reporters after sitting for the test.
