DU, Gifu University of Japan sign MoU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dhaka University (DU) and Gifu University (GU) of Japan has been signed at a simple ceremony held at the DU Vice Chancellor’s office. Prof. Dr. Fumiaki Suzuki, Executive Director, vice-president of the Gifu University, Japan, and Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations. DU VC Prof, Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique, Pro vice-chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. M. Imdadul Hoque and Prof. A H M Nurun Babi of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology were, among others, present. The main purpose of this MoU is to develop academic and educational cooperation and to promote relations and mutual understanding between the DU and Gifu University. Besides, academic exchange, joint research, exchange of teachers and students, publications and teaching materials and co-sponsoring of seminars, workshops and meetings are the prime objectives of this MoU, according to BSS.
