DU publishes list of final candidates

The Dhaka University authorities published on Sunday the list of final candidates for the much-hyped Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and hall union elections billed for March 11.
The final lists of candidates and voters are now available on the DUCSU bsite:www.ducsu.du.ac.bd.
According to the list, a total of 21 candidates will vie for the vice president (VP) post, 14 will contest for the general secretary (GS) post and 13 will run for the assistant general secretary (AGS) post in the DUCSU elections.
A total of 11 candidates will vie for the liberation war secretary post, nine for the science and technology secretary post, nine for the common room and cafeteria secretary post, 11 for the international affairs secretary post, eight for the literary secretary post, 12 for the cultural affairs secretary post, 11 for the sports secretary post, 10 for the student transport secretary post,14 for the social welfare secretary post and 86 will contest for the member posts in the DUCSU polls.
As per amended constitution of DUCSU, election will be held to 25 posts of DUCSU and 13 posts of every hall union.
Vote casting will be held from 8am to 2pm without any break on March 11.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will deliver a speech today (Monday) at 11am addressing the students about the upcoming DUCSU and Hall Union elections at NababNawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Auditorium.
