DU, Standard Chartered sign MoU

Dhaka University (DU) and Standard Chartered Bank Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in order to provide 'Governor Scholarship' for students of the university's Development Studies Department.
DU Treasurer Prof Mizanur Rahman and Standard Chartered Bank Head of Corporate Affairs Bitopi Das Chowdhury signed the MoU on behalf of their organisations at a function at the former's office.
Under the MoU, five students of Development Studies Department will be awarded 'Governor Scholarship' for their outstanding academic results every semester.
Each student will get Tk 2500 every month of a six-month semester. The three-year MoU may be extended latter if academic performance of students was found satisfactory, said department Chairman Prof Mahbub Ullah.
