The students of Political Science Department of Dhaka University (DU) Saturday kept their department office under lock and key demanding immediate publication of results of honours final examination.
The disgruntled students of the academic year 2003-04 told reporters that they were compelled to lock the department office for at least three hours, as the department had not published the results even after seven months of their examinations.
When contacted, department teacher and final year examination committee chairman Giasuddin Mollah said everything was okay to publish the results anytime. They were now waiting for the results of the third-year examinations, as the results of the final year was related to that of the third-year, he added.
Third-year examination committee chairman Dil Roushan Zinnat Ara Naznin said the results of the third-year examinations would be out within next 10 to 15 days, adding that it was a bit late in publishing the results as the department had to change the external examiners due an unavoidable reason.
According the routine, no department is supposed to take more than three months to publish the results after the end of examinations. Students alleged that it had been a tradition that the department did not make the results public until the students wage agitation against dalliance.
