The Dhaka University (DU) authorities, in a press release Tuesday, expressed surprise over the reports published recently in different dailies incriminating the DU acting vice-chancellor, treasurer, provosts and syndicate members in the August-20 campus incident.
The press release issued by the Director of Public Relations said the reports published were not only untrue and baseless but also had been created to undermine the image of the university.
The reports were ill-attempts by vested quarters to divert the attention from a fair investigation to elsewhere, the press release added.
The DU acting VC along with the Registrar, Provosts, House Tutors, assistant House Tutors, syndicate members worked relentlessly to restore peace on the campus, the press release further said.
