DU teachers call for boycotting war criminals socially

Dhaka University (DU) teachers Wednesday formed a human chain programme demanding punishment of those who assaulted freedom fighter Mohammad Ali in a recent conference of 'so-called' National Freedom Fighters' Council in the city. The teachers had called for boycotting the war criminals socially.
Around one hundred teachers from different faculties and institutes of DU joined the one-hour human chain at the footstep of Aparajeyo Bangla sculpture from 11.00 am to 12.00 noon to protest the 'atrocious' attack on Mohammad Ali.
They also demanded trial of war criminals and ban on communal politics, as they said it had now become the demand of people of all walks of life.
Talking to journalists, economist MM Akash said that they would go for tougher movement in the days ahead, if the government did not meet their demands immediately.
Social Sciences Faculty Dean Harun-ur-Rashid, Biological Sciences Dean Anwar Hossain, former DUTA President AAMS Arefin Siddique, Nim Chandra Bhowmik, Md Akhteruzzaman, Dalem Chandra Barman and Shishir Bhattacharya, among others, attended the protest programme.
