Duck farming on a vast shoal named Sonarampur on the bed of the Meghna River in Ashuganj of Brahmanbria gained popularity over the past 15-16 years for easy availability of natural feed and scope of marketing eggs in the nearby port area. But the duck raisers' business has shrunk both in volume and value in recent time for sudden lack of the facilities forcing them to seek government support including loan for recovery of the industry.
