Duck rearing to achieve self-reliance stressed

RANGPUR, Mar 11 (BSS): Experts at a duck distribution ceremony have called upon the extremely poor rural women for expanded rearing of ducks to meet nutrition demand of their families and achieve self-reliance through alleviating poverty.
They were addressing the duck distribution ceremony arranged by World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) under its Fulbari Area Development Programme (ADP) at its Dadul Sub-centre in Kazihal union of Fulbari upazila in Dinajpur this afternoon.
A total of 1,728 ducks were distributed among the trained women of 108 extremely poor families of Kazihal union, with 16 ducks for each family, to help them enhancing income generations for achieving self-reliance and meet their own nutritional demand.
Fulbari Upazila Livestock Officer Dr M M Mossarraf Hossain attended the ceremony and distributed ducks among the 108 distressed women as the chief guest with President of 'Suryamukhi Mohila Unnayan Forum' Lilufa Yasmin in the chair.
