Dulal makes brilliant cut in Basundhara Open

Bangladeshi golfer Dulal Hossain made a brilliant cut securing the joint 7th slot in the US$ 300,000 US "Basundhara Bangladesh Open 2015", the first-ever Asian Tour event in Bangladesh, at Kurmitola Golf Ground Friday, reports UNB.
Dulal, who made a surprise in the second round by securing the 5th slot, scored five-under-par (73+63+72) playing out five birdies, one bogey and two double bogeys in the third round to share the seventh slot with two other players.  Earlier, Dulal who was settled for joint 20th slot in the first round after shooting 73, made a brilliant comeback on the 2nd day firing an eight-under-par 63 with one eagle, seven birdies and one bogey.
In the first session Dulal produced better playing two birdies putt on 7th and 8th hole following one bogey and one dismal double bogey putt on the 4th and 3rd holes.
In the second session Dulal played three birdies putt on the 13th, 14th and 17th holes while one bogey and one double bogy putt on the 11th and 15th holes respectively.
Meanwhile, Mardan Mamat of Singapore birdied the last hole to pull three shots clear after shooting a three-under-par 68 in the third round to retain the top slot.
The 47-year-old, who won three out of his four Asian Tour titles after leading for three rounds, totalled 12-under-par 201 to continue his dominant form at the challenging Kurmitola Golf Club.
Young talents Khalin Joshi of India and Lee Soomin of Korea charged into contention on matching 65's to trail Mardan by three and four shots respectively as they chase for a first Asian Tour win. Playing in his first ever Asian Tour event, Janne Kaske of Finland had to battle hard before returning with a 72 to lie in fourth position on a 206 total. Dulal Hossain was the best placed Bangladeshi in tied seventh place following a 72.
