Dump wastes of cow, goat into dustbins: DSCC

Wednesday, 23 September 2015

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has asked city dwellers to dump the wastes of sacrificial animals into designated dustbins during Eid to keep the city clean. Over 0.1 million (one lakh) sacrificial animals are expected to be slaughtered in the DSCC area on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, generating some 19,000 tonnes of wastes. As the quick management of the waste is a challenging task, the DSCC has already taken a massive plan in this regard as in previous years, said a press release. The DSCC also asked the city dwellers not to slaughter animals on the streets and paved places. It urged all concerned to dump the blood and wastes of animals into earth, and wash the places where the animals to be sacrificed, according to a news agency.
