Durga idol vandalised

Some miscreants attacked a temple and vandalised three idols, including that of goddess Durga, in Barisal city on Saturday. Bikash Haldar, secretary of Aparajita Kunja Durga Puja Mandir committee, said a gang of miscreants, equipped with iron rods, sticks and sharp weapons, stormed the temple and vandalised a Durga idol and two other statues set up at the temple ahead of Durga Puja. The incident sent a panic wave in the area, especially among the Hindu community members of, according to a news agency.
