Dusts command fairly good market
FE Report | Friday, 13 June 2008
There was quite a strong demand in the week mostly emanating from Blenders/Packeteers particularly for well-made liquoring varieties. There was a little more interest from the Loose tea buyers. Pakistan was more active particularly for the Fannings. Dusts were a fairly good market.
CTC Leaf: 14,266 packages and 215 packages of Old Season again met with a strong demand but at slightly easier rates following quality.
Brokfns: Well-made good liquoring BOPs were strongly competed for and were generally firm to slightly dearer and these sold between Tk 120 and Tk 127. The smaller varieties were generally firm. The larger and plainer types were occasionally easier often by Tk 2.00 to Tk 3.00 with some withdrawals.
Fannings: Good liquoring well-made Fannings were a fairly strong feature but slightly eased in value fetching between Tk 117 and Tk 121. The remainder were similarly easier whilst the plainer varieties often declined over last.
CTC Dust: 2,394 packages on offer met with a good demand but at easier rates. Good liquoring types were a good market and were mostly firm to slightly easier whilst medium varieties eased by Tk 1.00 to Tk 3.00 per kg. Plainer types eased further. CDs were also easier particularly the plainer types. Blenders and Loose tea buyers continued to be active.
