Thursday, 29 April 2010

This week's tea auction was the first sale of the season where offering were quite small due to prolonged dry conditions in some of the growing areas, according to a press release of National Brokers Limited.
Dusts met with a strong competition particularly the good liquoring varieties.
After a hesitant start, the market settled and bids were available quite readily with demand for the good liquoring sorts from the Blenders with very good support from the Loose tea buyers. Exporters remained out of the market.
CTC LEAF: 7,325 packages and 337 packages of old season on offer met with a strong demand.
BROKENS: A limited quantity of small Brokens on offer were strongly competed for and realised prices between Tk 170 and Tk 175. The corresponding larger Brokens were also a good market and sold between Tk 150 and Tk 160.
