Dusts get better response from all sections

FE Report | Thursday, 7 August 2008

There was a strong demand in the sale particularly for the good liquoring types generally forthcoming from the Blenders. Loose Tea buyers lent a fair support. Pakistan buyers were mote active particularly for well made Fannings and Dusts. As a result, prices moved up in Sellers' favour. Dusts were a better market following strong competition from all sections of the market.

CTC LEAF- 251,265 pack-ages mid 203 packages of old season on offer met with a strong demand at higher rates.

BROKEN: Good liquoring Brokens were a strong market and advanced by Tk 2.00 to Tk 3.00 and these could be quoted between Tk 120 and Tk 125. Others were also a strong market and were dearer following quality.

FANNINGS: Well-made and good liquoring Fannings were strongly competed for and were generally dearer by Tk 2.00 to Tk 3.00 and these sold between Tk 125 and Tk 130. Medium types were fully firm and often dearer whilst plainer types were a dearer market.

CTC DUST- 4,339 packages, 21 packages of old season on offer met with a strong demand. Well- made good liquoring varieties were a much dearer market often by Tk 5.00 to Tk 10.00 following competition. All others were fully firm to slightly dearer. Best CDs, were, however, slightly easier. Blenders and Internal market lent good support and there was strong buying on account of Pakistan for best RDs/Ds.
