Dusts meet good demands

Thursday, 14 May 2009

FE Report
A small weight of tea on offer met with a stronger demand particularly the clean, good liquoring varieties, which fetched higher rates. Blenders were more active whilst there was stronger interest from the loose tea buyers. Export buyers were inactive. Dusts again were sold well particularly the good liquoring types, which were dearer.
CTG LEAF: 9,054 packages and (523 packages of old season) on offer met with quite a strong demand at firm levels.
BROKENS: Good Brokens were in quite a strong demand and were generally firm especially the smaller varieties and these were sold between Tk 139 and Tk 143. The remainder was a little easier following quality.
FANNINGS: Good Fannings were in strong demand and were generally fully firm to slightly dearer and these could be quoted between Tk 139 and Tk 144. Mediums were also firm whilst the plainer varieties were a dearer market.
CTC DUST: 1,280 packages and (170 packages of old season) on offer met with a slightly improved demand following competition and these were sold between Tk 138 and Tk 144 for PDs/RDs/Ds. CDs were a strong feature and were mostly dearer with the best lines selling between Tk 185 and Tk 191. Internal market lent good support particularly to the Blenders.
