DV lottery winners at mercy of broker gang
Saturday, 4 August 2007
IT is true that this year getting the visa by the DV lottery winners is pretty difficult. But it is also true that it is very easy for a DV visa broker to arrange the visa in exchange of huge money. So many times appeals were published in our national newspapers to take actions regarding this or take one of the members of those fraud DV broker gang on remand for one day only. On doing this, majority of the DV winners will be benefited.
Those DV winners, who have all proper or legal documents, should get visa. I am not talking about who don't fulfil DV criteria. It will not be wise for the US embassy to forget that a DV winner with six family members had spent near about Tk. 420,000.00 in the of hope that they should get visas. It's not easy for one who resides in a village to collect the mentioned amount. So after submitting all necessary documents, if the family is refused visas on interview without proper investigation, they just have to sit on the street. This is inhuman.
After submission of Blue and White Sheet, there should be a definite time to declare the final result. Otherwise, it is also very taxing to wait until the end of the related DV programme. My earnest request is to the authorities concerned for taking necessary steps to save the DV winners.
