A dyeing factory at the city's Shyampur BSCIC area was burnt to ashes in a devastating fire that gutted valuables worth Tk 60 million early Sunday, firefighters said.
An official from the Fire Brigade said the fire originated from a short circuit at K Ali Dyeing and Finishing Factory owned by one Harun-ur-Rashid at about 5:30am and soon engulfed the entire factory burning down machinery, boiler machine, generators, yarn and chemicals.
