e-TIN re-registration deadline extended

Monday, 31 March 2014

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended by three months the deadline for re-registration of Electronic Tax Identification Number (e-TIN).
The deadline has now been extended to June 30 for the existing taxpayers who are yet to get their 12-digit TIN.
In a media statement Monday, the NBR said the deadline has been extended following requests from various sectors.
The NBR introduced the 12-digit e-TIN replacing traditional 10-digit TIN in 2013.
It had said the old 10-digit TIN would not be effective from April 1 this year.
The NBR warned of legal action if any taxpayer fails to re-register the e-TIN within the extended time frame, according to a news agency.
