e-Upazila pilot programme launched

Social Development Foundation (SDF) has launched an e-Upazila pilot programme with partnership of Grameenphone to assist the government in implementing the vision of digital Bangladesh.
Under the pilot project, people of Jamalpur sadar upazila will be trained up on uses of mobiles and internet service including helpline, domestic and foreign remittance, agricultural information, results of different exams and passport forms download.
MP of Noagaon-3 Dr Akram H Chowdhury inaugurated the project Monday at a ceremony at Proshikha Training Center, Koitta, Manikganj. SDF chairman Dr Asraf Uddin Chowdhury and World Bank Senior Economist Meena Munshi, attended the function as special guests while Grameenphone Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mamud Hossian and WB consultant Renjit C S were also present.
During the inaugural function, a video conference was held with the community of Talianpara, Nuton Jibon Community Information Center at Jamalpur Sadar where the community of Gemidiriya Project, Sri Lanka and India took part.
