Each family of martyrs to get initial sum of Tk 500,000

Each of the families of those who embraced martyrdom during the recent student-people uprising will initially receive Tk 500,000 and each of the injured persons a maximum of Tk 100,000.
This was decided at the first meeting of the executive committee of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, held on Wednesday at the State Guest House Jamuna with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
The compensation for the injured persons will be made available as soon as possible, while cheques for the families of the martyrs will be handed over at a commemorative event in the capital, said a spokesperson of the CA.
