Early Eid shopping marks high sales in Rangpur

RANGPUR, July 1 (BSS): Hundreds of people have been thronging different city markets amid huge sales for completing Eid shopping despite higher price even more than two weeks ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr festivity to avoid last moment rush.
According to the market sources, shoppers and local observers, Eid shopping in all of the markets, shopping malls, complexes and makeshift wayside markets marks huge sales since last week amid tight security measures taken in the divisional city.
The district police administration has re-arranged the routes for movements of vehicles, rickshaws, battery-run auto-rickshaws and three-wheelers on the city roads to ensure smooth movements of the shoppers by reducing traffic jam to the minimum.
Members of the law enforcement and intelligence agencies both in uniforms and plain clothes have been patrolling the markets, road traffic and other important places to stop extortion, mugging, burglary and other crimes through stronger vigilance.
Besides, authorities of the business establishments, business organisations, shopping malls, complexes, markets and centres have taken their own security measures to ensure peaceful environment for the shoppers in the city.
Hundreds of men, women, housewives, students, girls, boys, youths and adolescents have been buying Eid items from the markets creating huge traffic jam since 10:30 am daily in the city despite taking special measures towards the directions.
The Super Market, 'Rangan' Market, Zila Parishad Community Market, Salek Market, New Market, Jahaz Company Shopping Complex, City Plaza, Moti Plaza, Adi Janata, Bismillah Garments, Madina Garments, Maya Exclusive Faison House, other markets and shopping malls are being turned overcrowded daily since the noon in the city.
The female students, young girls and adolescents are mostly purchasing three pieces of various designs like Anar Koli', 'Dipika', 'Sonakshi' 'Jhilik-2', 'Tumili', 'Chhanchhan', 'Ranjona', 'Khushi', 'Jibika', Discochally', 'Chhammakchhalla', 'Ulalla', 'Agnikonnya', 'Soti', 'Aksara', 'Heroin', 'Chennai' and many other clothe items at higher rates.
