Earthquake jolts city

A moderate earthquake in Assam of India jolted Dhaka and other parts of the country on Sunday morning. The tremor struck around 7:05 am. The magnitude of the quake was 5.4 on the Richter scale and the epicentre was 318 kilometres north of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) Seismic Centre, Agargaon, Dhaka, said a BMD report. No casualties or damage were reported. — BSS
