East End emerge champions

East End Boys emerged champions in the National Bank Metropolis First Division Volleyball League to earn the right to play in the Premier Division League from next season.
Azad Sporting Club finished runners-up defeating Madar-tek Mitali Sangha by 25-17, 26-24, 25-8 points in the last league match at the Dhaka Volleyball Stadium Wednes-day, reports UNB.
In the Metropolis second division league, Bhai Bhai Sangha clinched the title defeating Nabajagarani Sangha 25-18, 15-25, 25-18, 25-16 points in the last league match at the same venue on the day.
Nabajagarani Sangha finished runners-up and Nagar Samaj Kalyan Sangha placed third in the 6-team second division league.
Mamun of East End Boys was adjudged the best player of the first division league while Babu of Bhai Bhai Sangha named the best player of the second division league to receive Tk 15,000 each from league sponsors National Bank Limited.
National Bank Limited Managing Director M Aminuzzaman was the chief guest at the day's closing function and distributed the prizes of both the leagues.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Volleyball Fede-ration Ashiqur Rahman Miku was present on the occasion.
