Eastern Cables approves 10pc dividend

CHITTAGONG, June 23: The 21st annual general meeting (AGM) of Eastern Cables Ltd was held on its factory premises in the city with Additional Secretary of the government and board of directors Chairman SMA Mannan in the chair. The AGM held on Thursday approved 10 per cent dividend for 2006-2007 fiscal.

A large number of shareholders attended the AGM.

It was stated in the AGM that the company earned net profit of Taka 4,01,98,419.00 in the last fiscal. It deposited Taka 21,57,46,320.00 with the public exchequer as duty, VAT and other taxes.

The company chairman expressed satisfaction at achieving such a success and thanked the management and all concerned quarters.

The AGM was attended, among others, by Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) directors Md Rehabul Amin, Md Niazul Hoque, AS Shamsul Hoque Bulbul, Md Anawrul Qader, Anwar Sadat and Company Secretary Abdul Zabbar.
