Eastern Refinery posts Tk 95m net profit

CHITTAGONG, Mar 5: The Eastern Refinery Ltd (ERL) posted a net profit of Tk 95.76 million (9.576 crore) in the fiscal year (FY) 2013-14.
The ERL earned Tk 16.74 billion (Tk 1674 crore) during the period, said the company at its 38th annual general meeting (AGM).
It refined 1.205 million (12.05 lakh) tonnes of crude oil in the FY 2013-14.
The AGM was held recently at its office at North Patenga in the port city.
ERL chairman Abdus Sobhan Sikder presided over the meeting.
The AGM approved the audited account of the company.
The shareholders expressed satisfaction over the performance of the company.
Chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation AM Badruddoja, additional secretary of the Ministry of Finance Dr Mohammed Ali Khan, additional secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division Nazimuddin Chowdhury, director (operation and planning) of BPC Mosleh Uddin, managing director of the ERL GMA Afzal and company secretary Md Jashimuddin were also present at the AGM.
